What to Bring to Your Senior Portrait Session

You’ve booked your session, you’ve picked your locations,

and you’re starting to think about outfits. But what about

everything else? Knowing what to bring — and what to leave

at home — can make a big difference in how

smoothly your session goes and how confident you feel in

front of the camera.

Here’s a simple guide to help you show up prepared and ready

to have fun!

Your Outfits (Yes, All of Them)

Most seniors bring two to three outfit changes, and that

variety is what makes your gallery feel dynamic and

complete. Pack everything the night before so nothing gets

forgotten in the morning rush.

That means:

 Each outfit, fully assembled

 Shoes and accessories for every look

 Any layers or jackets you might want

A good tip: hang everything together so you can grab it and

go without second-guessing yourself.

Personal Props That Tell Your Story

This is one of my favorite parts of session planning. Your

senior portraits should feel like you — not just a pretty

backdrop with a stranger in front of it. Think about what

makes you, you!

 A sport or hobby you love? Bring the gear.

 A musician? Your instrument is always welcome.

 A reader, an artist, a car enthusiast? Let’s work it in.

These details are what make your images meaningful years

from now.

Touch-Up Essentials

Even with the most careful morning routine, a little

touch-up kit goes a long way — especially for outdoor sessions

where wind and humidity have opinions.

Pack a small bag with:

 Lip gloss or your everyday lip color

 A small brush or comb

 Blotting papers or a pressed powder

 Any hair products you rely on (bobby pins, hair ties, dry

shampoo)

You don’t need a full makeup kit — just the basics to keep

You feel fresh between looks.

A Snack and Something to Drink

Sessions are energizing, but they can also be longer than

you expect. A water bottle and a light snack keep your

energy up and your smile genuine. Avoid anything that could

stain your teeth right before we shoot, though —

Looking at you, coffee and berries.

Your Good Energy

This one sounds simple, but it matters more than anything

else on this list. Come ready to laugh, be a little silly,

and trust the process. You don’t need to know how to pose —

That’s my job. Your only job is to show up as

yourself.

Every session is fully guided from start to finish, so

There’s nothing to stress about. If you have questions about

what to bring or how to prepare, reach out before your

session — I’m always happy to help you feel ready and

excited for the experience.
