What sets me apart from other Senior Photographers?

Here’s something I want every senior (and their parents) to know about how I work — because it’s a little different.

A lot of photographers book back-to-back sessions, watching the clock and rushing through to fit in as many seniors as possible. That’s just not me.

I intentionally limit the number of seniors I photograph each season. Not because I have to — because I choose to. Because you deserve more than a rushed hour where someone’s already thinking about the next client.

Your session isn’t timed. We move at your pace. We don’t wrap up until every outfit, every location, and every moment feels just right.

And when you’re not being rushed... You actually relax. You laugh. You forget there’s even a camera. THAT is when the best photos happen.

This is a boutique experience — not a volume business. You’re not a number on my calendar. You are the whole point!

If that sounds like what you’ve been looking for, I’d love to chat!!

About Me

My love for photography began long before digital — back when film was the only medium available. I took photography courses in college and quickly discovered a passion for capturing meaningful moments with intention and artistry.

As a mom, I always had a camera in hand — documenting my boys' everyday moments, milestones, and countless soccer games. Over time, friends and families began asking me to photograph their own memories, and what started organically soon became a career built on trust, experience, and storytelling.

Today, I specialize in senior portrait photography, creating elevated, confidence-driven images that feel both modern and timeless. I understand that senior year is a once-in-a-lifetime season — for both seniors and parents — and I approach every session with care, patience, and attention to detail.

My work has been featured in Senior Muse Magazine and Inspiring Teens Magazine, and I was named to Senior Muse Magazine's Top 50 to Watch 2025 — a recognition I'm incredibly proud of. But what matters most to me isn't the accolades. It's the moment a senior walks out of their session feeling seen, confident, and genuinely excited about who they are.

Kansas City Senior Photographer - Jen Welker Photography

Ready to plan a session as unique as you?

Let's make it happen!

When I first met Jen from Jen Welker Photography, she made me feel confident, and I wasn't uncomfortable at all. That means a lot to me because I would say I'm a quiet person if I've never met someone. It takes a lot for me to bring out my personality for the first time, but it was not like that when I met her. She let me do me and captured it beautifully. -Addison

Oh my God, Jen!! Matt and I just looked at all of them. We can't, they are amazing. You take the most beautiful, unique photos! Love love love! Literally going to order everything! -Olivia

We are sooo grateful to you! Let me know if there is anything we can do in promotion or whatever. Marissa is telling all the younger girls about you. We LOVE them and you -Lynn
